We drive public value from core urban infrastructure.

Civic Infrastructure Collaborative (CINCO) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created by the City of Chicago and cross-sector partners to to make cities happier, healthier, and more productive .

CINCO's mission is to drive public value from core urban infrastructure through collaboration and technology-enabled innovation.

PRACTICAL, INCLUSIVE,

PLACE-BASED COLLABORATION

Public-private partnerships often sound good in theory (and press releases), but successful collaboration requires structure, perseverance, and dedicated resources.  Our team brings tools and expertise to help partnerships live up to their potential.  By focusing on specific infrastructure assets, communities, and needs, we ground our work in the real world.

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Civic Infrastructure Collaborative serves as a neutral convener of public, private, and civic partners to help build and realize a shared vision for core urban infrastructure.

Select Projects

Our team has a proven record of high-impact innovation across in key infrastructure sectors, including transportation and mobility, water management, and COVID-19 recovery in shared urban spaces.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING

Parking facilities play an increasingly important role as EV fueling stations, but operators have limited equipment and little visibility into how EV infrastructure is utilized across platforms and providers. Our collaboration with Bosch, Millennium Garages, Smarking, and ChargePoint is addressing this challenge.

SMART GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE

Cities can't tunnel their way out of urban flooding.  With AECOM, Opti, Microsoft, and Senformatics, City Tech combined sensors and cloud-based analytics to evaluate surface infrastructure to manage stormwater. Using data collected from sites in Chicago, the platform is helping reduce urban flooding and prevent millions of dollars in property damage.

CAPACITY MANAGEMENT IN SHARED SPACES

Reopening following COVID-19 pose unique challenges to complex, shared, urban infrastructure such as conference centers and entertainment venues. Using Navy Pier as a testbed, City Tech, NTT, SDI Presence, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and Intel, combined high- and low- tech solutions to enable adaptive reuse of the space.
